Round Britain & Ireland 2026

Starts Sunday 9th August 2026, Cowes

1800NM

Circumnavigating the islands we call home. Starting from Cowes, the fleet sails in a clockwise direction, keeping all islands and outlying rocks of Britain and Ireland to starboard, and finishes back in Cowes.

FASTNET ROCK

The race takes in the iconic Fastnet Rock, but unlike in the Fastnet Race, this will just be a distant passing mark as the fleet continues northwest around Ireland.

HOME OF THE SOLAN

Once home to a thriving community which abandoned in 1930, St Kilda is remote, beautiful and now inhabited by the world's largest gannet colony with over 59000 breeding pairs.

60.86°N

The Out Stack rock off Muckle Flugga is the northernmost point of the United Kingdom. At over 60 degrees north, this is further from the equator than the infamous Cape Horn and marks the turning point in the race to start heading south again.

2022

In the previous edition of the race in 2022, Maggie and Calanach raced against each other on almost identical Sunfast 3600s. They finished 47minutes apart after nearly 15 days of racing.

2026

4 years later and Maggie and Cal will once again race against each other, but this time in very different leagues. Cal is racing fully crewed in the Class40 fleet aboard 'Gambit' while Maggie makes a reprise in the doublehanded class aboard Sunfast 3600 Tigris.
